Oregon Squires Program

The Order of the Squires of the Round Table is a program for boys ages 9 through 12 and their parents to participate together in fun and worthwhile activities in association with the Order of DeMolay. To establish a Squire program (a Manor) in an area, a few things are needed:

  • At least 5 boys who are at least 9 years of age.
  • At least two parents willing to go through DAD training and serve on the Manor Advisory Council.
  • Permission of the Executive Officer and sponsorship by an existing DeMolay Chapter.

The Order's Namesake: Jacques de Molay

In 1298, Jacques DeMolay was named Grand Master of the Knights Templar, a position of power and prestige. He was however in a difficult position. In the eyes of European monarchs and the Church, the Templar’s raison d’etre had ceased with the loss of the Holy Lands.
